New York, New York, August 7, 2015 –
Family Energy, Inc. (“FE”) offers affordable and effective carbon offset programs to its energy customers. Consumers that opt for a Green Electricity or Eco Gas program not only get peace of mind for securing their commodity supply cost, but also the reassurance of helping to eliminate their carbon footprint.
In addition, to support the environmental efforts of our customers, FE partnered with American Forests to plant more than 12,000 trees on behalf of FE customers who selected Green Electricity in 2014. Tree-planting is considered an effective means of drawing excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and reducing the buildup of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere.
Trees planted by American Forests not only help to sequester carbon dioxide, but they also aid in “ReLeaf” projects to reforest lands damaged or destroyed by wildfires, restoring habitats for a variety of rare and endangered species.
“We applaud American Forests for its long-time advocacy for the protection of America’s forests, and we’re proud to be a partner in their “ReLeaf” projects. Environmental protection remains a key priority for our company. The trees we plant on behalf of our customers will benefit communities for years to come,” said Gerry Haggarty, President of FE.
“American Forests deeply appreciates FE Energy’s commitment to meet the climate challenges of today’s world head-on, but also for carrying the message to its customers about how day-to-day lifestyle changes can make an important difference to the health of their communities and to our planet,” said Lea Sloan, VP of Communications.
